By last week all of my seed orders had arrived and I started getting antsy. I’ve been flipping through the packets, organizing and reorganizing them, counting down the days until it’s time to start sowing. Around here most seeds shouldn’t really be started indoors before mid-March, but onions need an early start and will tide me over until then. This afternoon I sowed King Richard leeks, Long Red Florence onions, Yellow of Parma onions, Prisma Red shallots, and garlic chives.
